In the January 1997 issue of 'Mining Magazine' the RMS-Ross manufactured SB Concentrator was featured as the winner for new product editorial generating the most reader inquiries in September 1996.
The RMS-Ross Manufactured SB Concentrator has, according to president, Terry Plummer, " enjoyed a very fine first year in what is traditionally a very conservative industry. The design team brought in over 50 years of centrifuge and gold recovery experience, including a very thorough analysis of existing products worldwide. The purpose of which was to develop a superior machine. Assuming that the purpose of centrifugal concentration is to magnify the differential in specific gravity's through the acceleration of the pulp to high speed, the SB Concentrator has four distinct design advantages over conventional centrifugal competition, which assure the acceleration of the pulp to the prescribed 'G' force:"
- The consumable impeller accelerates the pulp while reducing wear on the bottom of the bowl or baffle plate.
- The soft, textured rubber surface on the tapered rotor bowl provides enhanced 'friction' for the pulp to ensure acceleration to the desired force.
- No additional process water is required until the pulp reaches the elutriated retention area.
- 200 'G' capability due to the heavy, solid, concentric machined rotor bowl.
Furthermore, Mr Terry Plummer reports that: " reasonably priced automation packages provide one minute cleanups, speed control ('G' force control) and the utmost security."
