The 'YT12' Pulsator Jig
![]()
General Description : The YT12 Pulsator Jig is a hydraulically activated removable screen bed jig which requires no mechanical power to operate. It operates on the principal of pulsating water from underneath of the materials being processed. The heavy materials which have been extracted (gold, black sands, platinum, magnetite, etc.) may be discharged continuously or intermittently from a discharge tap at the bottom of the unit. The spring controlled pulsator valve transmits rapid, sharp pulsations of water (200 - 600 times per minute) to give a wide range of variables for separation of heavy materials. |

Uses :
The YT12 Pulsator Jig is an excellent portable unit for testing. The capacity of feed for a unit is 1-1/2 to 2 cubic solids per square feet of screen bed area. Material of 1/2 inch or smaller is recommended.
The YT12 Pulsator Jig is best suited as a cleanup unit for the purpose of working the concentrate from a sluice box. The capacity in this application is about 1/2 to 1 cubic yard an hour depending on materials.
Size of Product Recovered :
It must be borne in mind that the YT12 Pulsator Jig is a gravity concentration device and that there is a limit to the fineness of gold that may be recovered. This may be contributed to the water that is being used, soaps or softening agents help in the recovery of fine gold. The YT12 Pulsator Jig can recover gold that is too small to be saved by an expert panner or seen by the naked eye. However, complete recovery of gold that is all minus 200 mesh cannot be expected because gold will float or suspend in water.
Capacity :
1-1/2 to 2 yards per hour per square feet of jig area while roughing the concentrate.
1/2 to 1 yard per hour per square feet of jig area while cleaning the concentrate.
Dilution of Feed :
1:1 to 2:1 by weight. To obtain such low dilution it is frequently necessary to provide some means of dewatering the jig feed.
Water Requirements :
12 - 16 gallons per minute per square feet of jig area at a constant head pressure of about 6 - 8 pounds per square inch.
Maximum Size of Feed :
Minus 1/2 inch. Somewhat better recoveries may be made with feed of minus 1/4 inch.
